Embracing New Technology
Not only are we employing a fresh bunch of young talent, we’re also getting ‘down with the kids’ by embracing new technology in the form of a pretty nifty new piece of equipment for the warehouse.
The Parcelcube 900XL SN-1 is an automatic dimensional machine that automatically provides the weight, dimensions and a photo of a carton, up to 82x82x94 cms in size, and 55 kilos in weight. Thanks to some clever IT chaps, it’s to our network via a laptop, and each process produces a spreadsheet ready to email through to our teams, so they can add the cargo receipt information onto our internal systems with a couple of mouse clicks, and print a label for the package, with all the relevant details. We receive thousands of packages each month that require ‘booking in’, especially during our peak summer season, so this technology will save hours of manual work.
We’re quite thrilled with this new technology … hopefully by the time this goes to print we would have figured out how to fully operate it!
It comes with a scanner to record the barcode info
