The Pink Way Round ride off to Singapore with the help of SFS
Two guys, two bikes raising money and awareness for breast cancer. Supporting the Kim Walters Choices program and Wesley Hospital, Mates Andrew Treloar and Glenn Bliesner will embark on a trip full of thrills, spills and tales to tell from London to Singapore by motorcycle over three months.
Today,Thursday 5th May 2011, Southampton Freight Services Ltd sent Andrew and Glenn off on their epic journey across continents after helping them import their two Honda bikes from Australia. They arrived at our office around 2pm and after working for two hours with our warehouseman Paul to unpack and reassemble the bikes, including a huge amount of luggage for their long haul road trip, they set off for South East Asia.
They will tackle 20,000 kilometers over the next 10 weeks until eventually arriving in Singapore, after batting through some of the toughest conditions you could imagine.
Our personal thoughts go with them and wish Andrew and Glenn a safe and rewarding journey, for what is a very important cause.
A few words from their website;
Why a charity, and why the Kim Walters Choices Program?
The Wesley Hospital Kim Walters Choices Program is a free community service regardless of where treatment has been undertaken offering support for women and men diagnosed with breast cancer and women diagnosed with gynecological cancers and their families. Choices is unique in its multi- disciplinary holistic care of people experiencing a diagnosis of cancer.
It seems these days we all have been affected by breast cancer in some way. Both Andrew and Glenn have witnessed first hand the devastation breast cancer can cause and are dedicated to raise both funds and awareness here and abroad.
Firstly, thanks for showing an interest in our cause.
We wish them luck and will keep you updated with regular links to their blog.
